My author interview takes place on the 20th of October! I am looking forward to the interview with OC Publishing owner Anne O Connell. She was my coach for tackling a historical novel as well as my publisher. I hope the interview inspires others who have been thinking of writing a book but are afraid to open the door will be encouraged and open the door and begin writing.

Getting on the hot list…

I woke up one morning to a message from my publisher. When I read it, I had to read it again and again. It was like a movie to me hello you just won the oscar, but in my case, it was Rise A Girl’s Struggle for More just made Amazon’s hot list! OH Wow! Later I found out through an author’s group I belong to that I would be interviewed by Scott D Smith, an Amazon Influencer. Wow!

Talk about exciting! Click on the picture to watch the replay. I wish my Grandma and mom could see it now. Do you think they can watch from heaven?

I am not in Texas anymore!

I was traveling down the highway to Houston. I usually see cows, but suddenly, my mind started playing tricks on me because I saw zebras. I was so shocked that I wondered if I was in Texas or beamed back to Kenya. Then, of course, I had to turn around. Sure enough, my mind was not playing tricks because all these zebras were right in front of me! I had to take pictures, of course, and then I just enjoyed the moment. I could not imagine why there were zebras.

A puzzle to still solve!

I hope you enjoy the pictures. Tell me, has anything like this ever happened to you. If so, I would love to hear your story.

Fall Time

I had just entered the town of Oilton when I spotted a mother and son put together the pumpkin patch. I stopped in to purchase a pumpkin and get the update of fun facts about Oilton. This mother-son duo was filled with enthusiasm as they prepared for the town to enjoy the pumpkin patch and help with scholarship money for the students in the Oilton school district. They gave me a tour around the patch, and the young man shared his favorite displays. These two certainly put me in the holiday spirit.

Listen!

When I signed up for this seminar, I did it to support a friend. Little did I know that I could learn to be a better listener. I found myself in meetings or with friends and would notice I was making a point to be a better listener. So what did I do? I went back and signed up for two more classes. I am a firm believer in always learning, if you’re interested in becoming a better listener.

Grandma Ruby Pearl Facts

October 20 is an important family date because, in 1904, my Grandma Ruby Pearl Terrill was born. So fast forward in time, 2021, I am launching my book Rise a Girl’s Struggle for More, a historical fiction based on a snippet of my Grandmother’s early life. I am sure you have seen many posts about the book. It has been a six-year journey, and I pray it inspires many people worldwide to go for their dreams and be the person they hope to be. So check out my website and see how you can go on the book tour.

I hope the rest of October is filled with fun times!

Enjoy the Fall colors for those moving to the winter months and for my followers on the other side of the planet enjoy moving into Spring and Summer.

Story Garden

My YouTube channel, the Story Garden, is open for business! We have moved back to Austin, our family home, to be exact. One of the children’s rooms has now turned into the Story Garden. I am very excited about our new look, new authors, and fun books for parents and children.

A safe place for young ones to hear fun stories read to them. A place where some authors pop in for an interview and share their book with the children.

The Story Garden

If you are a children’s author and want to be on my show, don’t hesitate to get in touch with me.
